Workshops Training

Workshops are offered on both an individual and/or a group basis. Classes may run for one week or as many as seven weeks dependent upon the current employment needs and the enrollment of students.
Classes are offered regularly at the Center which is equipped with a 12-station computer lab and a classroom. They are also frequently scheduled to be presented at an off-site location. We have delivered services in public libraries, One-Stop Employment Centers, art centers, and fire halls. We believe that if we take training to individuals who are unable to travel to the Center, we can provide them with the tools they need to acquire employment in their local community...and it has proven to be very successful.
We are currently in the process of seeking funding to develop and present more in-depth training sessions to women who reside in rural areas - focusing on budgeting/financial management, resolving issues specific to women and families in outlying areas, and overcoming interpersonal communication obstacles. As we have traveled throughout Oneida-Madison-Herkimer counties providing job-readiness skills it has become clear that accessibility to assistance in matters of money, conflict resolution, balancing home and work, and stress management strategies are not available to them. It may be a matter of transportation, logistics, or family issues.
