Rotating Loan Program
(RISE)
The rotating loan program is called RISE.
Its purpose is to provide last minute, back to work, "things"
eg. fingerprinting, uniforms, steel-toed shoes, etc. Women can borrow
funds, and repay them without interest and over a longer time frame
than would be possible from any other source. Repayment then makes those
funds available to another displaced homemaker.
Names of potential candidates will be
submitted by WERC staff and approved by a Board committee. The program
will begin when $10,000 are available as a base, but the goal is to
have $25,000 available. No monies from this source will be used for
operational expenses, they are for direct customer use. It is initially
funded through the Centuria Circle. The kick-off donation came from
Senator James Donovan Memorial Fund.
