Career Exploration

Through testing and coaching, participants examine their existing skills and the relationship of those skills to their career goals. An assessment is made of further training that may be necessary to reach a desired level of employment. Through the partnerships between local educational institutions and WERC, more extensive testing may be arranged. Also, funding sources will be examined to help each individual determine which financial resources they have and which they may need to seek. Program participants will have an opportunity to research grants, loans and scholarships that may be available to them. Additionally, referrals may be made to government training programs for which they may be eligible.

Resume Preparation

Individuals who are eligible for WERC services will be provided with a professional resume that accurately reflects their work history, training and skills. Information will be presented in a manner most appropriate for the position to which they are applying. Resumes will be maintained at the Center to facilitate updates or changes as needed. Should a customer need to have a resume forwarded to a potential employer either by fax or e-mail, Center staff can accommodate that need. A simple phone call can be made to schedule an appointment to make necessary changes.

Job Referral & Placements

Through our partnerships with other WORKing Solutions One-Stop members, we access a large database of job opportunities. Together we can work toward a position which fits each customer's employment plan and career goals.

The credibility of the program has resulted in many employers calling the Center directly seeking potential job applicants.

Once the program is complete, our career counselors follow up with customers to ensure that each person has access to any additional resources. Ongoing one-on-one assistance is readily available.
